Did you know 98% of Australians recycle or reuse household items? With global warming and waste management being a prime concern for the future, investing in the protection and conservation of our natural environment has become a priority for the public.
Originally inspired by WWF’s recent Earth Hour initiative, a proudly Australian movement, we at hipages have produced our own war on waste. Our free printable worksheet for kids is intended to both entertain and educate the next generation on how they can make a difference.
The mission, if they so choose to accept, will see our eco-warriors solving a range of problems set to them on the hipages printable worksheet. These challenges will equip our fresh-faced eco-warriors with the knowledge to help them in the constant battle to conserve water, energy and our natural resources. Parents and teachers are given the challenge of supporting and motivating their warriors throughout their mission to save the world.
With the average Australian producing 1.5 tonnes of waste a year and World Environment Day just around the corner, now is the time to get involved. We encourage kids, parents, teachers, and everyone in-between to share the message of energy efficiency, resource conservation, and waste management. Remember, being efficient with resources isn’t just ethical, it can also be economical; for example, per quarter you could save $58 by using a LED globe compared to the less eco-friendly incandescent bulb.
In the past, the construction industry has been recorded as accumulating the largest volume of waste generated by industry and households. As a portal to search and find your local tradies, hipages want to show our support in limiting waste and preserving our natural environment.
