You've found the perfect chairs for your dining room, kitchen or outdoor area but they're just a little hard for everyday use. Why not add some chair cushions for that added comfort and flair? Read on for more.
Chair cushions serve several purposes. The first is, of course, to make your chair more comfortable to sit on. They also help to set the whole decor or theme of the room. Finally, they help to protect your chairs from wear and tear. Use chair cushions inside or outside the home, on dining chairs, kitchen chairs, or on patio furniture.
If you're choosing chair cushions to use in your home, you need to look at the style of the cushion and make sure that it matches the room or area in which it is going to be used. You can have the cushions blend in or you can make them more of an accent or feature. You have a huge range of colours, styles, textures, and patterns to choose from.
Chair cushions are available as flat pads that tie in place right through to thick, tufted cushions and even cushions that have non slip backing. If you choose a cushion with ties, make sure the ties are part of the seam, as this will make the cushion more durable and more likely to last. Look for fabrics that are tough, durable, and not too slippery. These may include fabrics such as corduroy, denim, thick cotton, canvas, or chintz.
Make sure the chair cushions fit the size of the seat. Even a little bit too small or too large and your comfort will be greatly compromised. Also make sure that the cushion fits the seat securely, so that you don't feel like you are sliding around. It is an advantage if you can remove the covers of the cushions to wash them if needed, or even chuck the whole cushion into the washing machine. If this is not an option, treat the cushions with a stain guard to keep them looking like new.
