Termite Inspections
A termite inspection is a visual inspection only, carried out by a qualified and experienced technician.
An Inspections cover the following:
The readily accessible areas of the building and the site including:
The home interior
home exterior
roof space (pending access)
subfloor space (if app)
the grounds inc fences and trees within the property up to a distance of 50 meters from the home.
A written report for your perusal will be given on completion of the inspection and termite treatment recommendations will be proposed if and where necessary in accordance with the Australian Standards (AS 3660).
It is important to note that the Australian Standards (AS3660) recommend a termite inspection be carried out to your property every 3-6 months and as our duty of care we forward reminder letters to our customers at regular intervals.
Standard Termite Inspections: These are suited to the home owner, many new homes are covered with a warranty "Provided that the home has had annual termite inspections"
Regular Termite Inspections: (at least every 12 months) are very important, this provides you with the best chance of detecting Termite activity before any or much damage in done.
For inspections we use following equipment:
Moisture meters
Moisture meters are used throughout the course of your inspection and as moisture can attract termites to your property, it is important for us to notify you of all areas where moisture is detected. (Please note a plumber should be called in to inspect all areas where the technician noted moisture was detected and the problem rectified as soon as possible.)
Termatrac:
Termatrac can detect termites through Timber, Plaster board, Brick or Masonry with out disturbing them this allows for a more effective treatment. With no drilling, tapping or prodding of the timbers of your home.
How Does It Work ??
Termatrac, explained simply emits signals which penetrate the material that is being tested. If these signals are interrupted by termite activity, the liquid crystal display will alert the operator by showing up on the readout.
This Allows
Tracking the extent of activity without disturbance.
Tracking to an entry point.
Location of nests via entry point.
Choice of treatment method.
Don't risk a lesser inspection !!
Borescope
This piece of equipment allows viewing of areas that would otherwise be impossible to see into, eg wall cavities, inside trees. Upon completion of an inspection a detailed report is issued , often photos are included, along with comments on improvements/alterations that can be made to the home to reduce risk of termite attack.
If you would like to make an appointment or you would like further information regarding a termite inspection, please do not hesitate to email or call our friendly office staff who will be more than happy to assist you.
Pre-Purchase Inspections
Qualified and experienced technician will inspect all visible timbers throughout the whole premises including:
roof void & subfloor (where possible)
any tree stumps
fences
retaining walls, etc
around the perimeter within a 50 metre radius where applicable.
Moisture meters are also used throughout the course of your inspection and as moisture can attract termites to your property, it is important for us to notify you of all areas where moisture is detected. (Please note a plumber should be called in to inspect all areas where the technician noted moisture was detected and the problem rectified as soon as possible.)
It would be preferable (but not essential), for you (the purchaser), to be present at the property on the day of the inspection, so our technician can explain:
Any existing problems about the building and any areas of concern that may require your attention in the future. A preliminary report is written by our technician at the property and is then returned to the office, where an official typed report will be prepared and forwarded to you (the purchaser) for your perusal.
Termites and other destructive timber pests attack 1 in 3 homes. Your investment in a professional pest report is small compared with the cost of dealing with a termite or pest problem left unchecked.

(excluding weekends & public holidays) All reports comply with Australian standards AS 4349.3 and AS 3660.2 and our inspectors will be happy to make time to discuss the findings of your report, either onsite or over the phone.
