Tony Lawson is a well established building designer in Cairns, specialising in unique homes for tropical living. Established in 1992, Lawson Design is a boutique operation focusing on personalised attention to all clients.
An advocate of tropical, eco and organic architecture, Tony provides his clients with a house specifically to suit their desires. This is done by integrating the clients needs, their style of living, the site and the surrounding environment.
Careful consideration is given to essential elements such as:

Design Process
A strong collaborative design process begins with requesting the client to provide a design brief, the more detailed and informative the more responsive the outcome.
Analysis of the site follows, taking into account orientation, environmental issues, neighbours and assessing what mother nature has to offer. The design process is a team effort, with preliminary sketches being produced and discussed so the client is comfortable with the placement and relationship of various spaces.
Communication continues until advanced concept sketches are produced. The concepts are fine tuned and then the final documentation is produced. Final documentation is well detailed and informative, which enables concise and comparable tenders to be produced by builders.
Being a licensed builder and member of the Queensland Master Builders Association, Tony has a good understanding of construction and engineering principles which are integrated into all his design work.
Tony's innovative design and attention to detail has proved a winning formula with many Building Designers Association, HIA and QMBA awards to his credit.
