Manufacturing
Our Shade Sails are manufactured from 90% or 95% woven shade fabric, which has a ten year manufacturer's UV warranty. Each sail is hemmed with a double folded edge containing a braided pre-stretched cord inside the fold. This cord is pre-tensioned to the stainless steel rings which are fitted to each corner using shade webbing. All corners are reinforced with double patching which is then oversewn for extra strength. This system enables the sail to be installed with an even tension across the material, eliminating wrinkles and sag.
Installation
Shade sails are attached to fixing points using stainless steel shackles, turnbuckles and chains as standard installation. A tackle system can be supplied for most shade sails to enable the customer to easily remove the sails for winter months if desired.
Our posts are fabricated from pre-galvanised steel tube and can be powder coated prior to installation. Posts are usually installed by concreting into the ground or they can be bolted to an existing concrete slab.
Waterproof Sails
Waterproof sails can also be manufactured using either solid vinyl material or a new shade fabric which has a bonded waterproof membrane. All waterproof sails are seam welded with stainless steel cable installed around the perimeter and fitted with an edge-tensioning device. All corners are reinforced with double patching and large heavy-duty stainless steel eyes are pressed in for an extremely strong and durable attachment point.
