When Lex Cooper commenced operations of Lex Cooper Furnishings during 1974 he devised,as an adjunct, a flooring supply division, realizing the need, in Townsville, for a dedicated operation supplying and servicing the needs of the carpet laying and tiling industries.
This operation soon developed a firm client base within its market and as the business grew it was logical to see Lex's son, Craig, move into the operation in 1988. Craig brought with him some great innovative concepts designed to maintain Coopers Flooring Supplies number 1 position, these being implemented progressively as Craig embarked on the steep learning curve of understanding all aspects of this operation.
It was in 1999 that a complete dividing of Lex Cooper Furnishings occurred with the creation of Coopers Flooring Supplies. This was a stand- alone company with Lex and Craig as full partners.
As an independent company Coopers Flooring Supplies began the implementation of new methods to maintain its market share leading into the 21st Century.
In 2003 Craig and his wife, Jo, took over Coopers Flooring Supplies completely and now, with the establishment of their new and bigger premises in Aitkenvale, Cooper's Flooring is poised to continue with an expanded product range, extra services and always the best customer service.
