SERVICES
During 20 years in business we have created 1000’s of windows for homes businesses and public buildings across Tasmania and interstate. In recent years we have explored new creativity with glass including fusing and slumping, painting sandblasting and other creative combinations. We operate an extensive teaching programme in partnership with Adult Education and stock Tasmania’s largest range of supplies for glass craft.
We are constantly striving to create unique and special works that will bring joy to those we make them for. Our creativity works in partnership with our clients to bring their vision to life.
Merinda Young - started Tudor Rose Glass Works in 1986 with the support of her husband Graeme. Merinda is the manager, main designer, and also enjoys teaching a range of glass classes. Merinda works on the projects throughout their progress at the studio, particularly enjoying stained glass painting and leading windows.
Graeme Young – Graeme works part time in the business. He oversees the general running of the business, cuts lots of glass extremely accurately and particularly enjoys copper foil (tiffany) work.
Paul Cooney – joined Merinda & Graeme in 1996 after a long career at another glazing business. He has long had an interest in leadlighting and adds a wealth of experience to the team. Paul is multi-talented and works across all areas of the business. Paul can be sure of finding that perfect piece of glass and carries a wealth of information and tips. He is also our installation expert.
Heather Brough – is the quiet unseen member of the team. Heather faithfully putties, cleans and polishes every creation made in the studio.
John Paul – is the unpaid help! Merinda’s dad often helps with the “little running around jobs” and is a skilled copper foil wrapper.
