What is pure water technology?
Pure water is known as the most attacking compound when it comes to cleaning. It will practically remove everything to which it is applied upon. Our machines will take normal tap water back to its most effective natural state though deionization. Not only will it be a harsh remover of soiled surfaces, but pure water is also the only way to ensure a spot free rinse**. Leaving your house and windows sparkling and spot free!

What is house soft washing?
Basically we will apply pure water technology to give your house a comprehensive all over clean using our carbon fibre water fed pole.

How are driveways cleaned?
High pressure hoses(gurneys) will be used to clean all soiled surfaces when soft washing alone is not sufficient.

Is this environmentally friendly (especially with the current water crisis)?
Absolutely. We on average use 60% less water than other external house cleaning companies. Pure water is such a strong cleaning agent that the flow rate of water is far less than any other products on the market. This is acknowledged by Sydney Water, who have licensed us to use this technology, even in Stage 3 water restrictions.

    We are aware of the deep frustration many customers have as to timely resolution of their specific cleaning needs. We are yet to find a building that we cannot come up with a prompt solution. Generally speaking we will visit your site within two business days, and come back with our recommendations by no later than three business days after your initial request

Where as traditional window cleaners tend to stay within the comfort zone of their experience, our range of services allow us to combine different techniques to find the most appropriate solution for you. In may cases this will be the combination of several different techniques.

    Standardized Pricing

    Here at Oz Window Cleaning, we have taken out the guess-work of pricing jobs. The majority of window cleaners use the rule of thumb, we use a pricing matrix: This means that you can expect a standardization of pricing across your portfolio and know that you have the most competitive price at all times.

    Our matrix has the following inputs:

    1. Unit size of surfaces to be cleaned.
    2. Height and Access
    3. Service to be carried out
    4. Technique(s) to be used
    5. Estimated hours to complete
    6. Non standard equipment or products required.

    This information is then cross-referenced with our database of similar buildings to verify.
    This means the price we give you is accurate- whether it ends up being the highest or lowest quote you receive, which results in you receiving the actual service you have requested without the cutting of any corners.

    The cheapest quote is not always the best, as it may reflect unrealistic demands on the operator that nearly always leads to the job being carried out to an unsatisfactory level of finish.

    On time every time

    There is nothing worse than a a cancellation or no-show. We will always be on site at the time and date specified. The same applies for meetings and quotations and the delivery of information.

    If poor weather does not allow us to carry out our work, we will give you warning where possible, or inform you on that day, and make an immediate re-scheduling. Given the technology we use, light rain and showers do not hinder our work

    Health and Safety

    The health and safety of those around us and our own technicians, is paramount to Oz Window Cleaning. This means at the time of quotation a detailed plan is established to fully adhere both to our internal requirements and any site specific issues.

    This may be as simple as timing the cleaning of doorways and entrances to outside normal business hours up to the erection of barriers and traffic control. Each job is determined by its own specific requirements. Customers can request at any time our specific report for any or all of their buildings.

    We have virtually eliminated any work at height issues for buildings sub six stories by our use of Water-fed poles: these ultra light carbon fiber poles, along with pure water allow our technicians to operate from the safety of the ground largely eliminating the use of ladders. When dealing with higher work, whether that be by use of lifting equipment, abseiling or building maintenance units the appropriate harness systems are used at all times. When working at height all our equipment is secured by lanyards.

    Our technicians are always dressed in high-vis workwear and appropriate footwear, along with being provided with safety headwear and eyewear to be used when necessary. All our vehicles carry first-aid kits, and our staff are trained in basic first-aid.

    Water Fed Poles

    Water-Fed Poles (WFP) are super-light extendable poles that allow us to reach up to 20m in height (around five to six stories depending on the actual building). This allows us to work from the safety of the ground with minimum disturbance to those around us.

    While extendable pole technology has been around for many years, the results have always been poor as standard water and cleaning agents have been used: It is very difficult to see what you are doing from the ground, and most of the time traditional techniques will leaves spots and smears on the glass.

    Our breakthrough technology combines WFP with highly purified water. All the water we use has gone through a multi stage filtration process removing the mineral content of tap, bore or spring water. The water we drink is great for our health because of its mineral rich content, but is extremely poor at cleaning glass, as it is these very minerals (calcium, chlorine, sulfates, magnesium etc) that lead to mineral deposits building up on glass leading to the spots and smears you see.

    By applying this di-ionized water to a dirty surface, the water wants to immediately return to its mineral rich state, absorbing everything it comes into contact with. The result is spotless cleaning every time, with the run-off having the same properties as rain water.

    Seeing is believing, and the results will astound you.

    Abseiling

    Rope access techniques such as abseiling have been commonplace for the last twenty years. Abseiling of buildings for cleaning purposes came out of techniques and equipment developed for mountain climbing. It allowed for buildings that previously needed expensive and time consuming roof top safety systems installed to now be cleaned by this relatively inexpensive and time efficient technique.

    The majority of commercial window cleaning enterprises concentrate on offering this service.

    At Oz Window Cleaning, we see abseiling as just another technique- to be used when a more efficient cleaning method is not available. Our Operations Manager, Nathan Meikle, who heads our abseiling team, has many years experience both in commercial abseiling and Mountaineer Guiding.

    We have also adapted our pure water technology to be used by our abseiling team. The photo to your left shows how this really comes in to its own on tricky jobs such a louvres. It is notoriously difficult to get into confined spaces using a mop and squeegee, where as our short hand held Water-fed poles can easily access the tightest of spots.

    This again demonstrates how we are trying to develop the business to take on board the latest time saving innovations for you the customer.

    Confined Space Abseiling

    Confined space entry has for a long time been a workplace hazard which claims several lives each year, mainly because of a lack of understanding and education of the dangers. Specific legislation has been developed to manage the inherent risks of entry and working in confined spaces.

    A confined space, according to AS/NZS 2865- Safe working in a Confined Space is defined as an enclosed or partially enclosed space which:

  • is at atmospheric pressure during occupancy;
  • is not intended or designed primarily as a place of work;
  • may have restricted means of entry and exit, and may;
  • have an atmosphere which contains potentially harmful levels of contaminant
  • not have a safe oxygen level or cause engulfment.

    Confined spaces may include:

    Storage tanks, tank cars, process vessels, boilers, pressure vessels, silos and other tanks usually having only one manhole. Open topped spaces at more than 1.5m in depth such as pump wells, pits or degreasers that are not subject to good ventilation. Pipers, sewers, tunnels, shafts, ducts and similar structures.Any shipbaord spaces entered through a small hatchway or access point.

    BMU (consultation & use)

    Building Maintenance Units (BMU) are defined as an item of plant that comprises a working platform suspended on wire ropes from a securely mounted overhead structure or carriage. It is designed and erected to provide access to parts of a permanent building and to serve only that building, although parts of the installation may be demountable for storage purposes. The platform is capable of being raised or lowered and may be able to move laterally across the face of a building.

    Most buildings in excess of around 20 stories usually have a BMU. for areas that are inaccessible via the BMU rope access techniques are required.

    Our staff have extensive experience in the use and maintenance of a wide variety of Building Maintenance Units. It is normal however to be inducted by an approved technician into the use and safe working practices on any unit we have not used previously.

    We have adapted our pure water delivery system to be used on a BMU. This allows us greater flexibility and speed when carrying out a cleaning project. In some cases we can use roof top rain water tanks, in conjunction with a mobile filtration system thereby providing a chemical free, and socially responsible solution to your cleaning needs.

    Lifting Equipment

    We have extensive experience in all forms of Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs). Any Technician operating any lifting equipment has either completed his certification or is under the supervision of a certified trainer.

    We receive significantly discounted rates on the hire of this equipment, and pass the price through to you at cost. The expensive part of equipment hire of this type is not the actual day rate, but rather the delivery and pick-up costs. We therefore try and carry out a number of different services at the same time when on-site to minimize the overall cost.

    We will be able to advise you as to the exact equipment required for any operation. We can also provide trained operators on a half day and day rate.

    We have extensive experience in using:

  • Diesel and electrical Knuckle booms to 90ft
  • Diesel and electrical Scissor lifts to 140f

    Traditional

    The majority of inside work requires the good old fashioned mop and squeegee. This also includes pole extension up to around 3m to extend the reach.

    All our Technicians have years of experience and do not leave drips or smears. Careful attention is paid to sills and frames. There is not a lot one can say about this!

    Pressure Washing

    Oz Window Cleaning offers a variety of pressure washing services. Please refer to the login area for our current Sydney Water Permit Status. Generally speaking we try to clean surfaces without the need for pressure washing, however there are some jobs that it simply is the only answer. This includes:

    We have a number of different pressure washing units depending on the job:

  • Light Commercial electrical units (in all vehicles) (bar/MPa) 120/12

  • 10-40ft Pole adapters for electrical units

    By adapting our Water-Fed Pole Technology to accept pressure washing requirements, we can provide this type of cleaning service to areas that traditional heavy lifting equipment, or scaffold simply cannot reach. It also means for smaller contained stains and marks, the expense of lifting equipment is not incurred.

    Scaffold

    We use low level scaffold up to 3.8m in height. All our equipment is company owned ensuring the highest levels of quality and safety.

    All technicians are fully trained in the safe erection and dismantling of equipment.The photo to your left shos a practical example of scaffold in use, where by combining this safe work platform with our water-fed pole technology, we have been able to complete a complicated task without the need for expensive lifting equipment.

    FAQ's

    What is Pure Water?

    Pure water is spring, bore or tap water that has gone through a Di-ionizing process that removes all the minerals (calcium, chlorine, sulfates, magnesium etc) that are great for health but awful for windows, as it is these impurities that lead to spotting, and marking on windows.

    Why use Di-ionized water?

    Di-ionized water, especially when heated is one of the most aggressive solvents available, literally eating into grim and build of mineral deposits over time. Di-ionized water with a a TDS of 0, versus Sydney waters TDS of around 150 moves all remnants of pollution built up on windows, frames and sills. It desperately wants to return to its former mineral filled state and quickly attracts the inorganic particles around it, running off as the equivalent of rain water.

    Why Install Bird spikes?

    Birds cause real problems for the building manager including:

  • Fouling of public spaces
  • Disease transmission to humans
  • Slip hazards
  • Intimidation of visitors
  • Road traffic issues
  • Disease transmission to other birds

    Bird Spikes are a useful deterrent which rely on upward pointing wires to deter the birds from landing on critical areas of your building.

    What is a water Fed Pole?

    A water-Fed Pole, is a glass or carbon fiber retractable pole usually coming in 6ft lengths. Size vary from 2ft models up to around 60ft in height. The weight of a 40ft pole in carbon fiber is approximately 3kg, allowing a technician to use it for an extended period of time without any repetitive strain injury concerns.

    How can I get rid of wasp nests?

    Just knocking off a wasp or hornet nest will not get rid of the problem- and is extremely dangerous. Our specialist technicians firstly decide on an appropriate access technique, whether that be rope access, ladder etc. We use a protective body suit and mask for all work we carry out.

    The Nest is sprayed with a specialist substance than stuns the wasp, allowing the nest to be removed with the majority of wasps still in the hive. The area where the hive was originally located is then scrapped and sprayed with a product that deters another insect infestation.

    I have difficult access ceilings to clean?

    Ceilings, glass or other are notoriously difficult to clean. We have a number of different options available depending on the specific site. Usually we will have to erect low level dismountable scaffold, or electric lifting equipment such as a scissor lift, however if the floor below the surface is non carpeted we have adapted or water fed pole technology to also use internally.

    At Oz Cleaning we specialise in residential pressure cleaning. Oz Cleaning are the best in the business at house washing and use the top of the line equipment to keep your house sparkling clean. We offer 2 methods of house washing depending on the type house they include:

    High pressure cleaning: When we wash your house using our pressure cleaning method we will be using the Aussie Eco Clean 3500psi pressure cleaner. This machine is extremely powerful and can get rid of the toughest stains around your house. On average this machine uses around 3 litres per minute, so it is extremely friendly in our current NSW water crisis. We are fully licensed by Sydney Water to use this cleaning method, even in the midst of level 3 water restrictions

    House Soft wash: Soft washing is another method used for cleaning the exterior of your home. Your house is cleaned using a carbon fibre water fed pole with a chemical dispenser attached and an Ettore Soft Bristle Brush. We carefully scrub the surface of your home removing all soils and stains. Again we limit the flow of water through the pole to make sure we are environmentally friendly.
