Who We Are
We are a family owned home improvement company established in 1973 by Angus Abbey and trade as Allweather Shelters and Abbey Homes. We have designed and built over 18,000 carports, patios and extensions in Victoria in over 30 years.
Currently Ross Abbey, B.Comm. A.C.A., is Managing Director of both Allweather Shelters and Abbey Homes and the company has the professional management of two builders registered with the Building Practitioners Board.
Our good reputation can be confirmed by contacting the Housing Industry Association. We give a 6 year Home Owners Warranty.
What We Do
The company is committed to providing service, and a quality product, to the customer that enhances the quality of their life at home and adds value to their property. The good reputation of the company is evidenced by the significant number of previous customers who contact the company when embarking on another improvement to their home.
We provide the services of an experienced Design Consultant who will work in partnership with the customer in creating a design that takes into account their needs, good design principles and knowledge of the product. This service is free and without obligation and will result in a fixed price quotation for your individual design.
A draftsperson is located at the Airport West showroom and provides the final plans for each project from which the permits are organised. The construction of all projects is supervised by an effective team located at these premises. Many of our tradespeople have been with the company for over ten years.
What We Sell
- Carports and Patios: Using Hunter Douglas material, a custom built range of home improvement products has been developed including patios, carports, opening roofs, gable roofs and glass enclosures. These products not only have a pleasing appearance but are also built using low maintenance and long lasting materials. They provide year round shade, protection and privacy plus adding significantly to the value of your home.
- Extensions: Extensions are custom designed to respond to a need of the customer, such as a growing family, or to provide a specialised room such as a Home Theatre. The designs are developed to complement the existing home and add value to the property.
