QUALIFICATION DETAILS
Yarra Shade Co. is a member of the Australian Canvas and Synthetic Products Association (ACASPA)
ACASPA Membership ensures honesty in quoting and business dealings, training and industry knowledge.
We are Members of the Master Builders' Asociation of Victoria.
Master Builders' Membership requires strict business management and conduct standards to be met including peer assessment, it is an indicator of quality workmanship and good business practices.
Most importantly, we are Registered Domestic and Commercial Builders.
Any shade sail or structure over 20 m2 or 3.6m high or 2.5m forward of your house or non-permiable material (PVC) requires a building permit and only a registered builder can supply one.
It is illegal for a shade sail to be errected by an operator who is not a registered builder with the Building Commission.
Unless you are in a heritage or environmental overlay area, or impacting your neighbour or the street scape, you shouldn't require planning permission for residential installations, however some councils may for some sails.
Non-residential structures and sails over 20 m2, 3.6m high or of a non-permiable material require a building permit.
Commercial installations requiring a building permit will also need planning permission.
Registration must be limited specifically for Shade Sails or Unlimited.
