Services
Stone Cleaning
Heritage Stone Restorations specialises in stone cleaning techniques using the latest JOS patented chemical-free, low-pressure, rotating vortex process. It works gently and it works effectively.
The cleaning technology operates with an extremely low, and variable, air pressure (between 0.1 and 21 PSI) which can be regulated with water and an extremely fine granulate such as calcite.
JOS cleaning technology can also be used to: remove old layers of paint without the use of chemicals, clean natural stone and tiles, remove fire damage, clean off oxidation on bronze, brass, copper, anodised aluminium and other surfaces.
This system is in use across Europe and has been used on prestigious projects in South Australia and New South Wales, including:
War Memorial, North Terrace, Adelaide
Angas War Memorial
Adelaide Club
Women's Health Statewide
HSR also specialises in various poultice techniques.
Stone Carving
Stone carving and stone masonry require quite different skills, techniques and, often, temperament.
Our carving workshop, together with our highly skilled masons, produce intricate stonework of the finest quality. Such traditional masonry skills are increasingly scarce.
Having done a wide range of work in many different environments, our masons and carvers can offer a tremendous wealth of experience for all manner of projects.
The outstanding abilities of our site staff and craftsmen make them at home in the diversified environments of an historic building, monument or fast track commercial project.
Unique to HSR are stonemasons who have the all-round skills to not only produce hand worked masonry but also to fix rapidly on site when time pressures apply. These capabilities are only achieved through training, experience and thorough knowledge.
Residential / Domestic
Heritage Stone Restorations also specialize in new build such as extensions and alterations to stone and brick dwellings in order to match existing character of the original property.
Identification of stone to match original stone used is of prime importance and never too difficult a task.
Any dressing and tooling required to match stone with the existing is easily achieved by our stone masons.
Residential restoration can be paint removal, stone repair and lime mortar repairs and repointing.
HSR can undertake earthquake stabilizing of chimneys.
Salt Damp treatment
Traditional and modern methods ensures a long term solution.
Undersetting, replacing deteriorated stone and insertion of viscourse membrane.
Gravity fed siloxane fluid or chemical injection.
