Taking Building to a New Level
Cornerstone Builders specializes in custom design and construction of homes and fine commercial buildings. As a client of Cornerstone Builders, you will be carefully led through the design process, beginning with your wish list of features, the specific activities to take place in the building, the details of the particular site, and, of course, the budget. From there, Scott Zurcher will develop a design, with your suggestions and critique, to fit your budget and your site. Our expertise in both designing and building enables us to develop the most cost effective ways to maximize the features you consider important, without becoming too expensive.
In a typical residential situation, clients approach us with a basic idea, with varying amounts of detail. Sometimes this is simply a sketch from a magazine or plan book, sometimes just pictures in their minds. We then develop their ideas until a satisfactory final design is achieved, while assuring that the project will fit within their budget. On occasion, we have people come to us who already have a completed set of working drawings, and we are very happy to build from those plans as well. If you prefer to use the services of an architect, we will be happy to make recommendations.
From the first meeting until the time your project is complete, we will make every effort to tailor our service to your particular needs and the specifics of your project. Shortly after purchasing my present residence at McIntyre Street Wooloowin in 2006, I engaged Scott to undertake a number of renovations to the house including –
Repairing and replacing the front deck joists and decking.
Rebuilding the front staircase.
Building in an insulated ceiling on the rear deck.
Replacing the rear decking.
Retiling the kitchen.
Renovating the downstairs bathroom (tiling the whole bathroom, installing a vanity cabinet, basin and all new fittings etc.)
Repairing and replacing a downstairs outside window framing that had been subject to termite attack.
Repairing and replacing a downstairs inside wall that had been subject to termite attack.
Repairing and re-securing the corrugated iron roof to the extent necessary.
I confirm that I was completely satisfied with all aspects of Scott's work including, its quality, timeliness, cost, value for money, efficiency, cleanliness and the advice and suggestions he gave me. I particularly appreciated the fact that Scott was flexible in that no aspect of the job was too big or too small for him. All the work was done in a no-fuss and timely manner, and to a high standard - Scott takes real pride in his work and aims to satisfy. And the cost worked out to be very reasonable as Scott always worked very efficiently and assiduously.
