About Us
Charlie Salvestro has been a licensed builder in Cooma for 40 years. He started as a carpenter 50 years ago, after having worked in the tunnels on the Snowy Mountains Scheme.
Luigi Salvestro, Charlie's father, was a carpenter in Italy. Their family nickname was 'caretta', which translates as 'cart builder'. Luigi came to Australia and settled in Cooma. As well as building the family home in Bent Street, Luigi also built many of the homes needed for the Snowy Mountains Scheme employees.
Charlie's three sons and brother are also builders. His son Ricky is a partner in Charlie and Ricky Salvestro Builders.
Ricky Salvestro has been working in the building industry for 18 years, since finishing school. Ricky started out as Charlie's apprentice, as did Ricky's two brothers, Steve and Geoff.

There is no job too big or too small, we can improve your home in so many ways. If you are after more space, think about additional rooms, or a pergola can create an extra outdoor living area. It's amazing how removing a wall can open up, and create space, in your home. Extra light in your home from additional windows, or french doors, can give the impression of a bigger interior. Built-in robes can give you better storage facilities.
Outdoor jobs are not a problem.....maybe a new carport or garage? Need a new fence to keep in a dog or some kids...(or maybe to keep them out)? Consider something in timber, like an attractive picket style fence or an aluminium colorbond fence, available in an assortment of colours. Maybe your house needs some renovating, like a new roof? Replace that old tin with colorbond...and never paint it again!
Your outdoor living area can be improved with a new deck or pergola. Older homes can also be revamped with a new railing on existing decking and verandahs, giving your home a whole new look. Your exterior can also be changed with new windows, maybe replacing old timber windows with no-need-for-maintenance-aluminium ones, or perhaps you would like new timber windows as an interesting feature.

We also do concrete cutting, so jobs like needing to get through a brick wall is not a problem.
