Choosing a Upholsterer

When hiring a upholsterer, there are some things that you will need to consider.  Firstly, they should provide you with a free measure and quote.  The quote should include pick up and delivery, and be of a fixed price.  You should also ask to see some of their previous work.

Ensure that you are able to communicate well with your upholsterer, as it is important that they understand your requirements and are willing to work with you to ensure that you get exactly what you want.  The upholsterer should also be willing to guarantee the work that they perform.  However, they can only guarantee the upholstery work itself.  They cannot guarantee the components of the furniture such as the foam, fabric, springing or other items unless there is a manufacturer’s warranty.  Be sure to ask for the care labels for the fabric used so that you know how to keep the fabric looking its best.
