Staining your wooden floor is the perfect way to bring out the beauty of the timber, enhance its colour, and protect it at the same time. There are several different stains available in different colours. The different colours available means that you can choose exactly what happens to your timber -what colours are brought out of the timber, if it is darker than otherwise, and so on. The timber stain can be mixed in with a clear finish and applied to the floor or the stain can be applied directly to the timber for a deeper, richer look. You may need to apply a coating on top of the stain in order to seal it.
Because timber is a natural material, you will still see all of the characteristics of the timber when you stain it, that is, the grain of the timber, any knots, and any little imperfections. This just adds to the charm of using timber as your flooring surface.
