Vacuum Cleaners

In the home, vacuum cleaners are considered one of the most effective cleaning tools. Operating with powerful motors, vacuum cleaners are designed to remove dirt and other particles from your carpets. They can also be used to clean flat surfaces.

Vacuum cleaners are also very good at removing pet hair from couches and other surfaces.
Your budget plays a primary factor in your choice of vacuum cleaner. There is a wide variety of different makes, shapes and sizes to choose from.

Types of Vacuum Cleaners

Vacuum cleaners are available in the following types:
  • Ducted vacuum cleaner: This has very good suction and cleaning abilities. It is also extremely durable. Ducted vacuum cleaners will pick up more dirt than the standard vacuum counterparts. Ducted vacuum cleaners are most suitable for people with allergies as they have the power to remove dust mites and other allergens like pollen. They are also very quiet, allowing you to vacuum in the same room while your loving pet takes a snooze!

  • Cylinder vacuum cleaner: The cylinder vacuum cleaner is much easier to use because the motor unit that tends to be smaller. You can also vacuum a large area with the head, without having to move the motor. The cylinder vacuum cleaner comes with attachments that are housed inside them for quick retrieval and storage.

  • Upright vacuum cleaner: The upright vacuum cleaner is heavier than the cylinder vacuum cleaner. It can be more difficult to handle, and is not well suited to cleaning smaller gaps and spaces. The majority of upright vacuum cleaners are purchased with accessories. These are there to assist you with cleaning those hard-to-reach places. The suction power of this machine is one of the primary advantages and ideal for cleaning carpets. The motor is located close to the vacuum head, and a wheeled carriage makes it easier to operate.

  • Canister vacuum cleaner: This vacuum cleaner is manufactured with a long hose and container housing the bag and motor. It is ideal for use on vertical surfaces, curtains, hardwood floors and stairs. The machine is available in smaller and more portable sizes compared to its upright counterparts.

  • Broom/Stick vacuum cleaner: This vacuum cleaner is similar in design to light upright vacuum cleaners, but does not feature rollers or beaters. They can be used on hardwood floors, furniture, curtains and also hard-to-reach locations. The broom vacuum cleaner utilises a dirt cup instead of a bag to catch any dirt and dust. They have small motors and don’t generate a huge suction power.

  • Bagless vacuum cleaner: The bagless vacuum cleaner is one of the most modern available in the market. Suction power is constantly maintained as there is no dirt bag that fills up. Bagless vacuum cleaners are more expensive and normally feature a HEPA filter. HEPA filters remove dust more effectively than those that use bags. It is a good choice for people who suffer from allergies.

  • Handheld vacuum cleaner: This is a convenient machine for easy handling and quick vacuuming. They mostly use a dirt cup to pick up dust and fragments. The cleaner has a wand to reach difficult spots, and have an agitator attachment for carpets. Handheld vacuum cleaners normally come with wall mounting and charging units.

Buying a Vacuum Cleaner
