Your homes complex sewer system is connected to the toilet via an intricate web of pipes that drain through directly to a septic tank system that holds the waste products.
It is comparatively easier to replace an existing toilet with a new one because the supply pipes and drain pipes are already there. But if you are installing a new toilet in a new location from scratch, you may have to extend supply pipes and drainpipes to the spot where the toilet has to be installed. The laying of supply pipes and drainpipes should only be carried out by a professional plumber.
All additional washers, gaskets and other pieces of hardware for fitting the tank to the bowl should be included when you purchase your new toilet. Other parts you may also require can be purchased from most hardware stores, including hold-down bolts, a wax gasket for sealing the drain, and a flexible water-supply tube for connecting the tank to the shutoff valve.
