Any fence that discourages people from entering or leaving an area, or protects a property generally, may be considered a security fence.
Security fences may be produced from:
Brick and concrete fences will offer high protection from intruders but have poor transparency, blocking you from seeing anything on the other side of the fence.
Iron/Aluminum fencing has high breakthrough strength, is uneasily cut and gives good visibility over the fence. It is also difficult to climb this style of fence as their decorative tops are hard to climb over.
Chain link fences allow for visibility over the fence and act as a preventative barrier. They do however have lower breakthrough strength, are easily climbed and may easily be cut through with bolt cutters.
Welded wire mesh security fences have higher breakthrough strength, and are not easily climbed or cut through easily.
Palisade security fencing also act as a barrier, providing transparency as you can see through the fence and are almost impossible to cut through. This style of fencing also has the advantage of being weather resistant and low maintenance in the long term.
