Welcome to Sutton Constructions. Our multi award winning company individually designs and builds unique homes in the Echuca Moama region. We hope you enjoy viewing some of our completed projects.

Each individual is different and so are all our homes. With the assistance of the highly professional team at Gerard Brandrick Architects Peter Sutton designs each home to suit the client's particular needs. After an initial meeting a sketch plan is prepared. Peter and the client work on this together to ensure the end result - a home that suits the owner's lifestyle and provides many years of comfort and enjoyment.

We are a small boutique company offering personalized service to our clients. Personal contact is maintained throughout the entire building process. Peter and his partner, Steve Robson, offer help with each stage of the building process, from selecting an appropriate block through to choosing building materials and fittings. Whilst many buyers are happy to choose their own colour schemes free advice is available if requested.

Sutton Constructions is committed to environmentally friendly building design. It strives for 6 star energy efficiency and water-saving measures in each home.

When Debbie and I decided to build a home we considered most options and visited the display homes of the well known building companies. We both felt that the larger building companies were somewhat inflexible when it came to changes to their standard plans and it was difficult to determine what the final cost would be after changes were made. It was also difficult to compare what you were getting from one company to another (comparing apples with apples). We both knew of Peter's reputation of building above average quality homes and that he had a flair for designing and building modern, cost effective, functional homes. I contacted Peter and he indicated that he would be pleased to get together and discuss options. Peter was able to show us through some of his more recently built homes, and we observed the home owners had a high regard for Peter's workmanship and empathy for his clients. We were impressed with the high standard of finish, and of fittings chosen in building his homes. Debbie was particularly keen to build a modern style home and we adopted an open mind on most aspects of the design and style of the home. Peter was very helpful with ideas and quite a deal of his time was spent with the architect (Shannon) on the detail of the floor plan, positioning the home to best advantage on the block of land and Peter helped us imagine how the home would appear. Peter presented all of his costings in a detailed way that was easily understood and he took the time to show us the quality and standard of fittings he would use and the allowance made for each item I was particularly pleased with the outcome as due to the nature of my work, I was rarely available during building hours. Peter, his Site Manager Steve Robson, and all the tradesmen were most helpful as they were dealing with Debbie on day to day matters and their conduct was very professional. In July 2004 we moved into our new home and we are both very pleased with the outcome, we have a wonderful new home, that we feel is a combination of our ideas and Peter's guiding hand, and have no hesitation in recommending Peter Sutton Constructions and staff to any prospective home builder.

My wife & I decided to do a large renovation of our 1900's Federation style house in Echuca. The house is situated in the heritage area of Echuca, and therefore required approval from the heritage architect before any work could commence. It was absolutely imperative to us that the building contractor that we enlisted, had the flair to be able to handle quite a difficult renovation, but, keep the integrity of the property paramount at all times. That builder was Peter Sutton of Sutton Constructions. Peter's brief for the renovation was as follows: To completely demolish & renovate a 1900's style kitchen & laundry, add a large open living area & new bathroom & laundry. A heritage chimney was sited in the middle of the extension, so this needed to be worked around, as did the 14 foot ceilings , which were essential to maintain the character of the historic building. The rest is history. The building was completed in December 2002 with a fantastic result. The new extension has a beautiful open & very livable family feel to it. The kitchen is extremely functional & makes anyone preparing in there, feel part of activities around them. The integrity of the outside of the building has been maintained beautifully, with it's classic Federation style. The Master Builder's Association must have liked Peter's work also - they awarded him the award for the "Best Renovation in Northern Victoria" for 2002-quite an achievement-one that we are very proud of. The great thing about Sutton Constructions operation is the way the business is structured. Peter has decided to "hang up the tools!!" & his expertise is now fully concentrated on making sure the project runs smoothly & conferring with the client at all times. In a lot of ways he has taken on an "architectural role" & this shows in the way the building takes shape.The other great strength of the company is in its trades people. These employees & subcontractors have been hand picked by Peter & their quality workmanship is a credit to their trade. I would fully recommend Sutton Constructions as a very professional operation, who are one of leaders in the construction industry in Northern Victoria.
