Shepparton Garden Centre
Shepparton Garden Centre has operated under the present ownership since 1973 on a property in the centre of Shepparton until May 2006 when it relocated to the larger current site.
Shepparton Garden Centre operates as a specialist nursery concentrating on the botanical and horticultural aspects of the business. It seeks to be relevant to the cultural diversity and climatic peculiarities of the region and to find ways to meet the needs of local gardeners accordingly.
Vegetable seeds, seedlings, bulbs and perennial herbs and things like artichokes have always received our concentrated attention. We have a range of Italian packet seed featuring regional varieties along with less well known heritage garden varieties and a range that we package ourselves. Bulk seed is supplied to local growers.
Our long trading history and range of contacts allows us to supply a wide range of plants and associated materials relevant to the home gardener.
The supply of fruit tree varieties is maintained year round and in the last 12 months has included Mangoes, the hardier Bananas and Coffee trees.
We have a deep interest in native plants and supply farm trees in tubes and a larger size in 5 litre bags. Ornamental varieties of many drought and climate hardy selections are maintained in our display beds. Special needs can usually be provided, depending on availability, within 2 weeks.
Roses, Camellias, Azaleas, shade trees, shade-loving plants for the fernery, hedging plants, windbreaks and lawn seed in bulk or small amounts are all part of our every day experience.
We are known for our advice, diagnostic services, elements of design and garden development.
Trading hours are from 9.00am - 5.30pm , Monday - Saturday. The centre is closed on Sundays.
The Shepparton Garden Centre distributes and sells products from major rose growers and many specialist plant, tree and fruit tree growers. Multi-crop seaweed products, garden ponds, water pump and fountain supplies, handcrafted garden ornaments, Wolf garden tools, bird net, shade cloth and other plastic soil barrier material are also available at the centre. We have a special interest in organic pest control materials and a holistic approach to natural bird and wildlife.
In brief our business reflects a long experience in communicating with gardeners and a serious reflection on climate change and the possible effects on plant selection.
