Quins has been in business since 1972 and has the experience needed to create innovative and quality products to suit anyone's shade needs.
Quins manufacture, install and repair shade sails, folding arm awnings, traditional awnings, cafe style blinds and interior blinds as well as manufacturing marquees for the hiring industry.
Custom manufactured shadesails can be made in almost any shape that you can imagine. Rope tracks or plates can be used for attachment to existing buildings or poles can be installed. There is a wide choice in materials and large areas can be spanned.
Large range of fabrics and colours
PVC, mesh and commercial grade shadecloth fabrics can all be used for Shade Sails. PVC fabric is waterproof and reflects UV radiation but does not block out light completely and is the choice when rain protection is a concern. Commercial grade shadecloth offers a close weave providing sun protection to at least SPF 15 and is also very hard wearing.
Stainless steel wire is sewn or welded into the perimeter seam to properly tension the sail and specially constructed eyelets are used on the corners to provide anchor points for turnbuckles and shackles.
Residential or Commercial
Shade sails are suitable for both private residences and commercial properties. Residential sails are usually used to provide shade for an outdoor area such as a backyard or a pool and are a particularly cost effective method of doing so. Commercial sails are used to provide protection to playgrounds, car parks and can also be used internally in large buildings.
PVC and commercial grade shadecloth manufacturers offer a 5 year and 10 year warranty respectively on defects in the material. Quins offer a guarantee on workmanship of 5 years.
Folding Arm Awnings
Folding arm awnings are very popular with Cafes and Restuarants due to their professional and neat look and their ability to span large distances. They also work very effectively in a residential setting.
These awnings are ideal for large patios and external entertainment areas. They are an affordable alternative to constructing an exterior roof while providing similar protection from harsh sunlight and UV rays.
Sizes and Operation
Folding arm awnings are simple, robust and can be made in widths of up to 12 metres and are able to extend up to 6 metres enabling huge areas to be covered without support poles.
Folding arm awnings can also be automated for push button operation or for full automation, a wind and sun sensor can be installed so the blind will retract at night for security purposes and also in potentially damaging high winds.
A wide variety of fabric types can be used for folding arm awnings such as Canvas, Mesh and PVC
Drop Arm Awnings
Innovative and Stylish
Drop arm awnings are a new take on an old theme. Using a cassette system similar to folding arm awnings, they provide a modern look in comparison to traditional awnings.
Range of Fabrics
Canvas, PVC and mesh are all fabrics that can be used for drop arm awnings. PVC is easiest to clean whilst mesh is almost as easy to clean but has a very modern look. Canvas has a softer more traditional look but is not as easily cleaned as the other two fabrics. A large range of colours is available in all fabrics.
Drop arm awnings are very robust due to their construction from extruded aluminium. They can be motorised and automated and can be used in much higher winds than folding arm awnings.
Large Spans and Retractability
Perfect for courtyards and large pool areas. Ideal for long and narrow areas where retractability is desired. Pleated awnings also have the advantage of being able to withstand much higher wind loads than folding arm awnings or umbrella type shades.
Suitable for all weathers
Despite their shape pleated awnings don't hold water so can be left extended in any weather.
Fabrics and Colours
Pleated awnings can be made from PVC coated polyester, shade mesh or shade cloth with PVC coated polyester having an edge because it is easier to clean than the other two fabrics. The hardware for the sail such as cables, pulleys and fittings is made from marine grade stainless steel.
Indoors and Outdoors
Conservatory awnings are an innovative retractable system similar to folding arm awnings with the key difference that the front bar is supported by tracks rather than arms. They are well suited to use under pergolas and indoors to provide shade for large glazed areas.
Conservatory awnings are suitable indoors as well as outdoors for glass roofing, Pergolas and substructures. Exterior awnings protect against the sun and heat and generate a pleasant indoor climate - with excellent visual characteristics.
Widths and lengths of up to 6m can be covered with a conservatory awning
Conservatory awnings are typically motorised with a remote control but can be automated and manual is also an option.
Clear PVC Blinds
PVC blinds offer an affordable way to utilise outdoor covered areas. Clear PVC blinds offer all season protection against wind, rain. Ideal for extending living and eating areas like verandas, cafes, bistros, restaurants and hotels.
Track and Zip
Track and zip is ideal for a veranda or pergola enclosure. Fitted with either Clear or Tinted PVC, it makes the ideal solution to enclose a pergola from wind and rain. The blind can be easily pushed down and locked off or rolled up.
PVC blinds fit perfectly between posts or pillars and are available in pull-down, wind out or motorised systems depending on the size of the screening required
The close fitting design of this versatile awning makes it an excellent choice for ground floor windows. Automatic Awnings offer the benefits of optimum privacy and sun protection keeping the heat out during summer and the warmth in during winter.
These awnings promote easy function with self locking arms which allow for simple shade adjustment, and when the sun goes away, the awning may be rolled away neatly into the headbox. Automatic awnings can be provided in a range of fabric choices such as acrylic canvas, woven and dipped mesh styles.
