The New Generation approach to creating Luscious Lawns
HYPERGREEN
ABOUT HYPERGREEN
The HYPERGREEN business is modelled on 2 key aspects;
1. Offer quality lawn care at a price point lower than direct competitors.
2. Offer superior service and complete customer satisfaction, to generate repeat business and referrals.
Fundamental to the ability to offer such competitive pricing, is the use of new generation equipment. HYPERGREEN spray units are purpose-built, battery powered and therefore fully mobile, able to move discreetly around a property, particularly those with limited access, without dragging dirty hoses.
The units are designed to apply liquid fertilisers and other aqueous based solutions in commercial quantities at constant rates, to facilitate consistent and complete coverage in a minimum of time.
HYPERGREEN isn't about being the biggest lawn care company in Australia, it's about being the best, and as a HYPERGREEN client you will receive not just personal service, but a level of customer satisfaction only possible from a business established and operated by its Owner.
Adding to the depth of technical support from our product partners, is ready access to some of the most respected representatives and advisors from the turf and pest management industries on the Gold Coast and from around Queensland. From the option of the latest organic products to the practice of sampling soil substrates for comprehensive laboratory analysis, HYPERGREEN is a specialist in quality lawn care.
I trust you will find the HYPERGREEN website not only a useful resource in identifying the common conditions lawns are most likely to suffer from, but sufficiently detailed to describe the comprehensive range of products and services HYPERGREEN can offer as your specialist lawn care provider.
SERVICES
Liquid Fertilising & Soil Nutrition
Lawns Like To Be Fed Too!
The application of correct fertilisers and soil conditioners are essential for a healthy lawn. Despite the rhetoric from other industry operators, it's not rocket science - the key to a healthy lawn is fundamentally proper food and water.
Even without an irrigation system, lawns will often receive adequate watering from occasional rainfall - but a balanced source of nutrients, (food for your lawn), don't simply fall from the sky......
The Science is in the Delivery!
As a Homeowner, you can always revert to buying a few bags of granular fertiliser from the hardware and cast-it around. But without consideration to selective weed control, and the advantages of a seasonally formulated, commercial strength, liquid fertiliser, applied in a strategic pattern to provide consistent coverage - your recreational initiative is unlikely to generate professional results.
Liquid spray applications are recognised as the most professional method of evenly distributing nutrient fertiliser and other aqueous based chemical controls and conditioners, and is the method most commonly deployed on turf farms, golf courses and bowling greens.
New Generation Equipment
The HYPERGREEN units are battery powered, fully mobile rigs, that are simply wheeled to the area requiring treatment, avoiding the need to lay-out dirty hoses from a truck parked on your driveway, all the way to your back yard, perhaps dragged over your outdoor tiles or pavers, or poked through your pool fence.
Consisting of a bulk tank, high-volume pump and a commercial low-pressure hose and spray wand, the HYPERGREEN units have been purpose-built to apply liquid fertilisers and aqueous solutions at a constant rate and to facilitate consistent coverage.
Weed Management and the Control of Lawn Pests and Disease
All Lawns have Weeds! Some Simply More than Others!
Lawns that are suffering stress, and perhaps deficient of proper nutrients are less likely to resist the invasion of persistent broadleaf weeds and clovers, with many weeds naturally more resilient to poorer growth conditions.
However, even healthy green lawns can often also mean a healthy selection of weeds, with soil conditions favouring thriving lawns also likely to encourage weed germination, and particularly the spread of unwanted grass varieties throughout your lawn.
Weed Controls
Basic broadleaf weed control is conducted as a standard inclusion with liquid fertilising services, using a broad spectrum formulation compatible with most turfgrass varieties, including Buffalo grass and other sensitive species.
However, the control of chronic weed problems, including unwanted grass varieties that may be invading your predominant lawn type, often involves a more "targeted" approach.
Specialised treatment(s) will focus on specific weed varieties, preferrably at a time in-between mowing cycles, and typically achieve a sustained level of weed mitigation.
For more details on the various type of common broadleaf weeds and sedges, including physical identification, please consult our relevant Common Weed Factsheets for help, or perhaps contact HYPERGREEN to discuss arranging a convenient time to have your lawn areas assessed and / or treated.
Insect, Grub and Disease Controls
At particular times of the year, seasonal conditions can encourage the development of various lawn pests and disease, which can result in significant damage to even the healthiest of lawns.
There is no effective method of actually "preventing" attack by most lawn pests, and prompt attention by HYPERGREEN with a specialist treatment to eradicate the problem pest will be required if bare areas of lawn are appearing, and the risk of further damage appears likely.
Lawn Soil Conditioning and Wetting Agents
Correct Soil Chemistry
Despite our trading name, we are not all about just 'greening' lawns.
Our formulations are adjusted seasonally, to ensure we offer the optimum ratio of not only critical nutrients, N-P-K, (N-Nitrogen, P-Phosphorus, and K-Potassium), but also trace elements and micro nutrients such as Manganese and Iron, to maintain a healthy lawn - one that's most suited to the prevailing seasonal conditions.
Typically, a formulation that is higher in Nitrogen is consistent for use in Spring when demand for leaf growth elevates, whereas the balance is modified to one that is relatively higher in Potassium in Autumn, to help prepare the lawn for tougher, Winter periods and to resist disease.
For new lawns, or those recovering from an intensive de-thatching, our formulation will typically favour one with an increased ratio of Phosphorus, which will encourage the development of stronger, deeper root systems.
When necessary, HYPERGREEN can conduct core sampling from your lawn, and arrange to have it laboratory tested for nutrient content, to reliably identify any soil deficiencies.
Soil Conditioning and pH
The selective use of soil conditioners and wetting agents are also moderated seasonally in HYPERGREEN formulations, to optimise soil fertility and maximise treatment performance.
For example, soils can over time migrate to a pH level (measure of acidity) outside the optimum range for certain turfgrasses, and your lawn may have difficulty in absorbing essential nutrients for growth.
The prolonged use of certain "off-the-shelf" lawn foods will often unknowingly result in the soils becoming more acidic. Without proper soil conditioning, the efficient uptake of fertilisers and other essential nutrients can be compromised, creating a lawn that whilst well fertilised, will perhaps yield a rather ordinary appearance.
For the uninitiated, speculating that because of its poor appearance, a lawn needs even more "nutrient", can inadvertently lead to a condition whereby a lawn is "over-fertilised", and exacerbating the underlying pH imbalance further.
Minimise Water Consumption
Wetting agents are designed to overcome water repellency in soils, and allow faster penetration of water and other solutions to where they are most needed.
They work to effectively decrease water surface tension aiding the successful rewetting of soils in dry summer periods, eliminating localised dry spots and increasing the uniformity of wetting and moisture retention throughout the soil profile - thereby conserving water!
By allowing for better water and nutrient infiltration and absorption, the addition of wetting agents help grow deeper, stronger root systems and ultimately lead to improved lawn vigour and quality.
Wetting agents also encourage free drainage from water logged soils in winter and during heavy rainfall, and have also been shown to inhibit surface moss, algae growth and soil borne pathogens.
When water logged soils are encouraged to drain better, air is allowed into the root zone enabling the lawn to take up valuable nutrients.
