The addition of Harcourt Consulting Engineers has added significant experience in large scale commercial design through exposure to the Nifsan Development on the Gold Coast, in particular the three high rise buildings recently completed on the Emerald Lakes.

Newport Consulting Engineers is well known and often regarded as the experts in swimming pool design, especially in Brisbane and South East Queensland. This has enabled the design of cost efficient pools and structures around the private residence.

Des Newport Engineers conduct soil investigations and design all aspects of domestic housing and residential units from footings to ground slabs, suspended concrete slabs, structural beams, windbracing and tiedown.
Some of our current projects are using the relatively new practice in Australia of Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) which have been used for some time in North America. The benefits of this type of construction include:

Our designs extend from small shopping centres to large industrial buildings in masonry, tiltup concrete and metal cladding. Our current large projects include a multi storey commercial building at Newstead, a multi unit residential complex at Ashgrove and an affordable housing project at Labrador on the Gold Coast. We have recently completed three high rise buildings for the Emerald Lakes development for Nifsan.
Des Newport Engineers are also very proud to have recently worked with Hutchison Builders and ARGO Architects on the elements of the design of the new Football Stadium at Kawana on the Sunshine Coast.

Harcourt Consulting Engineers have extensive experience in design, documentation and construction within the education sector. We have been a member of the Building Committee of Somerset College on the Gold Coast and has been personally associated with the College for over a decade. Harcourts is currently undertaking a number of small to medium-sized projects for the Gold Coast City Council. In addition we were appointed as structural consultants for the rejuvenation of Greenmount Headland and the rejuvenation of the Broadbeach Mall.
We were awarded a Gold Award for the Greenmount Headland Walk at the 2001 Gold Coast Urban Design Awards.
