Architecture

Our design approach is based on close collaboration with our clients to ensure that design solutions are tailor made to a client's unique functional and lifestyle requirements. Our work explores themes of environmental and social connectivity through innovation.

We undertake careful site specific assessment in the early stages of a project to;

• optimise the design and lifestyle potential of a site
• maximise the interplay between interior and external environments
• maximise energy efficiency and sustainability of the building and its services

We look for opportunities to create unique building solutions that suit their natural environment, are healthy to live and work in and express the aspirations and personalities of their occupants.

Sustainability

Creating sustainable environments is central to our approach to architecture and design. We work collaboratively with our clients to acheive healthier spaces to live and work in, without compromising the design quality or the natural environment.

This approach is complementary to existing building practices and to achieving functional and economic goals of a project for clients. We are accredited with the Association of Building Sustainability Assessors, ABSA, to conduct house energy assessments and certification, using the 10 star 'Accu-Rate' thermal assessment software.

Sustainable design requires an understanding of the relationship between a building and its site, its local climate, its interior and exterior spaces. We use this understanding to work with design & building strategies in an innovative & efficient way that minimises waste and maximises health, wellbeing and enjoyment of building & place.

Celsius works with its clients to find building methods, materials and systems that reduce the use of toxins, energy and water; and promote healthy, diverse and uplifting spaces to live and work in.

Urban Design

Celsius can provide master-planning and urban design advice on a range of project types including

• Multi-residential and village projects
• Educational and campus designs
• Mixed-use and commercial projects

We approach the design of our urban projects with a view to strengthening social and community connections. This involves the following principles;

• Design of positive and active public spaces.
• Incorporation of landscape design that is layered, varied and integrates public furniture and artwork.
• Creation of active layered streetscapes with sensitivity to local heritage items.
• Incorporation of sustainable principles including multi-unit thermal assessment and certification, passive solar and water conservation principles.
• Working with community groups and Local Councils to ensure that large scale projects are embraced by and contribute positively to their local communities.

Illustration

Celsius provides an architectural illustration service providing fast, accurate hand drawn architectural perspectives. These illustrations are an important way to communicate your project to various stakeholders in any project, including clients, councils and for marketing purposes.

Computer or hand drawn illustrations are very useful in the early stages of a project in order to quickly gain 3 dimensional views of various options to assess and communicate to others. They can also be developed further as the project proceeds to a stage of presentation appropriate for sales, marketing or community consultation on larger developments.

Illustrations are done in black and white or colour rendered to your requirements. They are able to be produced for a wide range of building and project types, including new and renovated residences, commercial and urban developments, village designs and community centres, interiors and educational facilities.
