What is Denatured Ethanol?

Ethanol is an absolute alcohol, produced by the fermentation of renewable raw materials from agriculture and forestry products such as sugarcane, potatoes, bananas and more recently from wheat, barley and corn. Ethanol producers de-nature ethanol with various substances for resale purposes and call it Denatured Ethanol (or Methylated spirits as it's known in Australia and New Zealand).

The cost of 1 litre of Denatured Ethanol varies depending on the place of purchase. On average it costs approximately $3.50 per litre and purchased from any hardware stores.
