Flyscreens are essential to provide good ventilation while preventing bugs and other detritus from entering your home.  Flyscreens can be used on both doors and windows and come in either a standard or security form.  Security flyscreens are made from a high tensile stainless steel mesh and are perfect if you want security without compromising your views.

Flyscreen Doors and Windows

Typically, flyscreen doors and windows are made from an aluminium frame that is powder coated in your desired colour with a steel, fibreglass or aluminium mesh.  However, timber framed flyscreens are also available and these can be a highly attractive alternative once they have been painted, stained or polished.

There are a wide range of flyscreens, from hinged to sliding doors, to rollaway systems that are simply pulled down when required and hidden out of sight for the rest of the time – great if you have feature doors that you want to admire.  Rollaway screens work particularly well with French doors, casement windows, double hung windows, and bi fold doors and windows.  Flyscreens can also be fitted to your existing security windows or doors.

Professionals will measure, make and fit your flyscreen on site and usually only need a few hours to complete the job.  If a more complicated door or window is required, they will make the required components off-site before installing the door or window. They can also re-mesh security doors and windows, as well as other doors where the flyscreen may have become tatty over time.  Most professionals will also give free quotes.
