  • Browse the local directory for Bathroom Accessories

Bathroom accessories the items that are placed in the bathroom after all of the other renovation work has been completed, such as the structural work, painting, fitting of the bath and shower etc.  Essentially, they are the end product of a bathroom renovation.

What are Bathroom Accessories?

Bathroom accessories encompass all of the following:

  • towel rails or rings
  • robe hooks
  • vanity shelves
  • toilet roll holders
  • toothbrush holders
  • soap dishes
  • storage cabinets
  • shelving
  • other bathroom storage
  • mirrors
  • waste bins
  • shower curtains
  • tapware

Essentially, bathroom accessories are the finishing elements of your bathroom.

Choosing the Right Accessories

When choosing your accessories, it helps to have a plan in mind for your entire bathroom.  It is important that they are located conveniently and that you have allowed for them when designing the actual renovation.  Otherwise, you may be forced to place accessories in awkward areas making the bathroom difficult to use.  There is nothing worse than being unable to fully open a door because of a towel rail that had to go behind it because there was nowhere else.

There is a wide range of cost options available, meaning that you can opt to spend as much or as little as you like.  The constant updates of and releases of new accessory ranges means that there is truly something for every bathroom.  And if you are renovating on a budget, the cheaper options don’t have to mean compromising on quality.

Finally, there is the style of the accessories to consider.  You can opt for ultra-modern all the way through to traditional.  The materials commonly come in chrome or plastic but stainless steel and ceramics are also options.  Most of the stuff you buy can be fitted yourself.

Buying Bathroom Accessories

There are many suppliers for bathroom accessories.  Following are a few of the more common ones:

  • General Suppliers – these may stock just bathroom accessories or may also stock other elements of a bathroom such as the toilet, bath, shower, vanity unit and so on.  They have a good range and usually stock a variety of styles.
  • Specialist Suppliers – as with general suppliers, they may stock just the accessories or all the elements of a bathroom.  However, specialist suppliers usually have a greater range of accessories and may choose to specialize in certain brands or styles.  These places are great if you have something specific in mind.
  • Hardware Stores – these stores are great if you just need to pick up something quickly.  They usually have all of the different types of accessories but their range is more limited that general or specialist suppliers.
  • Department Stores – carry a limited range of bathroom accessories but they can be very handy for picking up a feature or statement piece.
