In winter, the outdoor area may feel too cold to entertain but the addition of an outdoor heater means that you can enjoy your outdoor spaces all year round in comfort. There are a myriad of options for heating outdoors and some of the most common ones are outlined below:

The outdoor barbecue is one of the simplest options but it can also be one of the most effective, especially with the element of open fire. As well as being a place to cook, it is simple to pull up a few chairs around the barbecue or to situate your outdoor furniture a convenient distance away.
A chiminea is a large clay pot that has one open side and a small funnel that acts like a chimney. They originate from Mexico. Before using a chiminea, ensure that it has been properly cured; otherwise cracking may occur when the clay heats up and expands. Try not to leave it outside either as cold weather can similarly lead to cracking but via shrinking.
A brazier is a metal bowl-like structure that has holes or open slats on the sides, an open top and a tray for catching the ash. They use fuel such as heat beads, wood or briquettes. Because the brazier has an open top, it can be used as the base of an outdoor barbecue, making it truly versatile.
A patio heater, also called a gas heater, is a tall heater that is topped with a gas element and often has an umbrella style top that can radiate heat to quite a distance. Because they are a radiant heater, they will warm people and objects but not the air. Patio heaters operate using gas bottles. As well as the standard units, tabletop models are also available.
An outdoor fireplace can bring the same atmosphere to your outdoor area as a standard fireplace brings to the interior of your home. They are usually made from stainless steel and can be surrounded by a variety of materials, including stone, tile, and granite. It is possible to match the fireplace to the exact style of your home. Outdoor fireplaces will generally not need a chimney.
