Roof Mounted Solar Ventilation

One of the best choices when it comes to solar ventilation systems is a roof mounted solar ventilation system.  There are actually two main options in these – those that are designed to ventilate the roof space and those that are actually designed to ventilate the home itself.  Solar ventilation that is designed to ventilate the roof space work by using solar panels to power a special, extraction fan.  The fan operates near silently in order to remove hot air from the roof space and replace it with cool, fresh air.  What happens is that the internal temperature of the roof is greatly reduced, thus making the interior temperature of the home much more bearable.  The system switches on when the temperature inside the roof reaches a predetermined point.

These systems operate by having a special solar powered fan installed in the roof space.  The fan is combined with a series of sophisticated filters so that fresh, clean air is delivered into the home and stale dirty air is removed.  The filters are so effective that they can capture absolutely minutely sized particles (as small as one hundredth of a strand of hair).  Such solar ventilation systems can cool your home in summer, or even use the warm air in the roof space to heat your home in the cooler months. Solar Sub Floor Ventilation

The other option that you have for solar ventilation is solar powered sub floor ventilation.  This is designed to keep the underside of your home cool and dry, so that you don’t have problems with rising damp, salt damp, mould, mildew, termites or other problems that are exacerbated by the presence of moisture.  Solar sub floor ventilation works by installing fans at strategic points in the sub floor area. The fans are connected to solar panels as their source of power.  When the temperature reaches a predetermined point, the fans turn on, exchanging the stale, damp air under the home for fresh, dry air.
