What are Motorised Awnings? 

Motorised awnings are awnings that have a motor attached for easier operation. The motor can be operated via a wall switch or a remote control. Motorised awnings mean that you no longer have to manually open and close your awnings, and mean that you can operate your awning from just about anywhere (within range of the remote!).

Many different types of awnings can be motorised. These include folding arm awnings, retractable awnings, cassette awnings and drop arm awnings. Any type of awning that can be manually operated can be motorised. It does not matter what fabric the awning is as canvas, fabric and aluminium awnings can all be motorised.

Options for Motorised Awnings

If you choose to have motorised awnings, there are some other options that can be included. These include sun, wind, and rain sensors. These sensors monitor the weather conditions and retract or extend the awning automatically. For example, if it is sunny, the sun sensor will tell the awning to extend but if it starts raining or the wind picks up past a level set into the rain or wind sensor, the awning will automatically retract, preventing damage. Another option that you may like to include is a timer which will extend and retract the awning at the set time, meaning that you don’t have to do a thing! It’s also great for security should you have to leave the home for a period of time.
