Topic: Flat Pack Kitchen
A flatpack kitchen can be a great choice for the budget-conscious renovator but how are they to install? Read on for more details.
There are some great advantages to installing a flatpack kitchen in your home. For starters, it is an economical option. Depending on who you buy the kitchen from, you can save up to 50 percent of the cost of a traditional, custom built kitchen. Flatpack kitchens are also great if you are short on time as you can buy them and take them straight home to put together. You often have to wait a few weeks for a custom built kitchen to be ready.
However, there are also some things to consider with flatpack kitchens. Be aware that they are often made to standard sizes but many companies are now able to build a flatpack kitchen that suits the dimensions of your kitchen. This may cost a little more, however. Colours and materials are often standard as well but there are more choices than ever before. You also have to put the cabinetry and such together yourself. This is not a problem if you are handy but it can be time consuming. Alternatively, you can have a builder or tradesperson help you.
If you are renovating your kitchen, you will need to remove the old kitchen before you can install the new flatpack kitchen. This can be done yourself but it may be worth hiring a builder or having the flatpack company do the work for you as you may cause damage that needs to be repaired if you do it yourself, adding to the cost. With a flatpack kitchen, you will still need a plumber and electrician to disconnect and reconnect your services.
