Topic: Garages
Do you need more room in your home but don’t want to go through adding an extension or addition? Consider converting your garage into a usable room. It is still quite a significant renovation, but you will benefit from having the structure already in place. You will need a professional to help you undertake this task, but we’ve put together a quick guide on what you will need to consider when converting your garage.
You may also need to do something about the driveway – remove or disguise it somehow – as it may look awkward, especially if you have closed in the existing garage doors (see brochures on garage doors)
You will also need to lodge a development application with your local council in order to be able to convert your garage, especially if major work is being undertaken such as converting it into a bedroom or other similar living space. A professional will be able to help you with this. Find a garage builder in your local area.
