What is a Bathroom Mirror Demister?

A bathroom mirror demister is a device that stops your mirrors from becoming all fogged up due to steam from the bath or shower. No more do you have to wipe down the mirror with a towel or wait for it to clear before shaving, applying makeup, or doing other grooming tasks.

Using Bathroom Mirror Demisters 

Mirror demisters are extremely thin and are designed to be mounted to the back of a wall hung mirror. They are generally adhesive, allowing you to simply stick them on. The demister is connected to the bathroom’s light switch or to a transformer if you opt for a 12 volt model. You may require an electrician to wire the demisters in for you. They keep the mirror clear by warming the mirror surface to above the ambient temperature of the bathroom, stopping condensation from forming on the mirror’s surface and fogging it up. However, the heat is low and evenly distributed, so there is no damage to the mirror itself, and no risk of you burning yourself on the mirror.

Bathroom Mirror Demisters – A Cost Efficient Choice 

You can choose to apply a single demister to your mirror or you can place more than one if you have a large mirrored area. It is recommended that you choose a demister that is slightly smaller than the total area of your mirror. Mirror demisters are cost efficient to run, as the largest demister doesn’t use any more power than a 60 watt light bulb. If you run the demister for one hour a day, it should only cost you a matter of cents to use each week!
