Colour Generation

Thinking about painting your home in line with the latest colour trends?  Not sure what the latest colour trends are?  Well, Dulux has released their hottest colours for the 2007/2008 season and there really is something for everyone.  The focus this season is to mix style with individuality in order to suit the personality of the homeowner.  Confidence is key!

So what are the new palettes in Dulux’s Colour Generation?Vintage Paradox - Photo courtesy of Dulux

Vintage Paradox: as the name suggests, this is a modern approach to the vintage and Art Deco movements.  Colours are strong with blacks, whites and neutrals combine to dominate in many different styles.  The blacks are not true blacks but rather have hints of purples, greys and blues which contrast amazingly with the many different types of whites.

Natural Essence: this colour palette takes its cue from nature.  The rich colours are inspired by the environment and include earthy greens and browns, reddish chestnuts and sandy hues that are reminiscent of sand dunes.

Moving Aura: this palette is all about intriguing, yet subtle, shine and reflection.  This is the metallic palette with new shades of gold, copper, bronze and pewter.  There are even metallic blacks and reds, which look amazing and really ramp up the wow factor of a room.  Metallic colours combine well with neutral and bold colours.

Intrinsic Edge: these are non-traditional colours but look amazing anyway.  Unique blends of colours are the key here, with muted and clean tones coming together.  Colours in this collection include earthy browns and ochres, pastel pinks, purples and blues and dark blueish-greens.

Self Reflection - Photo courtesy of Dulux

Self Reflection: the aim of this colour palette is to create a feeling of calmness and serenity in the home.  This is achieved by using calming blues, soft grey-ish greens, coloured greys, apple greens, and mushroom pinks.  These colours are great for creating an area to relax and unwind.

Techno Rush: as you may have guessed from the name, this is the palette with the really dazzling colours.  Features include hot reds and pinks, cobalt blue, tangerine, bright white and even an almost-but-not-quite lime green!

As you can see, there is something to suit any home, and any taste.  Don’t be afraid, experiment with the bold, new colour styles and you’ll have a home that reflects the unique you in no time at all!
