One of the biggest new trends regarding tapware is that tapware is now moving towards being softer and more organic in design. This fits in perfectly with the newer bathroom trends of making the space more of a retreat.
On the other end of the scale, stronger, more geometric shapes in tapware are still very popular and will be in fashion for a while yet. These geometric designs feature things such as sharp, straight lines, smooth edges, and defined curves. Often, these designs are influenced by oriental factors.
As far as types of taps goes, the traditional three piece tapware sets are firmly on the way out and these are being replaced by the much easier to use mixer taps and single lever taps. Colour wise, it is all about chrome plated or stainless steel tapware due to the fact that it looks extremely timeless and it marries well with all colours and finishes
Another strong trend in tapware is to use taps that not only look great but are as water efficient as possible. In Australia, this means choosing taps that have high WELS rating. These taps are extremely water efficient but do not compromise on the delivery of water, so that you don’t suffer from poor flows or low water pressure. 6 star WELS rating are currently the best available.
