Styles of Water Slides

When it comes to residential water slides, you’d be surprised at the variety of styles that are available. You can have slides that are completely straight for a fast ride down; a gently curving slide; a twisty slide; or even a slide that does a full 360 degree turn for the ultimate in excitement. Once you have decided on the actual style of water slide, you can then decide whether it will turn to the left or the right.

Look for Slides that Have Their Own Water Supply

If you’re after that true theme park experience, look for water slides that actually have their own water supply. What this means is that water will be delivered to the top of the slide where it will then gush down. These provide you with a more realistic theme park experience and make your slide much safer and more fun.  You should be able to adjust the flow of water from a gentle trickle to a strong flow and the water is taken from your swimming pool.

Choosing Water Slide Colours, Features and Materials

You have a choice between colours when you are choosing your water slides and the most common are blue and tan but grey is also available. This allows you to coordinate with your pool or your surrounds as you want to.  Also have a look at what features the slide has, especially safety features. Slides should be equipped with strong handrails, a non slip ladder or steps, and use fixings that will not corrode in the wet environment.

Many water slides are made from acrylic or polyethylene, both of which are very strong and durable.  They should be treated for UV resistance in some way so that they do not fade in the sunlight.  However, some slides can be made from metal but be aware that they can get very hot to use if they don’t have water going down them.
