Topic: Bathroom Sinks
Are you looking for something a little different for your bathroom area? Don’t just settle for the standard white basin as there’s a new trend on the market – glass basins! Glass basins look amazing, are durable, and surprisingly easy to care for. Here’s some more information.
Glass basins are basins that are designed to be used predominantly in the bathroom and they are made from toughened or tempered glass. The necessary fixings for the glass basin are usually chrome or steel of some form. The basins are generally mounted above the counter top itself so that they are the main feature of the vanity but they can also be semi recessed.
Glass basins are available in many different shapes such as the traditional round, the more modern square or rectangular, and nature inspired shapes such as waved and lotus shaped designs.
The basins are not just available in the standard clear glass either. There are a huge range of colours available such as frosted, opaque, charcoal, and fashion colours (such as red, blue, and so on).
While the standard white porcelain basin is still incredibly popular in the bathroom, glass basins are shooting up in popularity. This is because they create a beautiful, modern contemporary look. It doesn’t matter if the glass is left as its natural colour (an attractive greenish hue), frosted, or tinted to different colours such as yellow, red, black, green, or blue, as there is a glass basin to suit any bathroom decor. There are even different patterns available such as broken style patterns, bubbles, ridged patterns and so on.
Glass basins not only look amazing, they are strong and easy to keep clean, which is a winning combination in the bathroom. After all, there’s no point buying a gorgeous basin if you spend most of your time cleaning it after every single time you use it or being scared that it’s going to crack or break. The glass used in the basins is either 15mm or 20mm thick toughened glass. To clean it, it is simply a matter of giving it a quick rinse after use and using a mild cleaner on it occasionally.
